What is it?
The Certified Treasury Professional: AFP Learning System: Treasury course is a professional development program and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) exam preparation program. This program is based on the newly introduced CTP body of knowledge that has been updated for 2008 to more accurately reflect the redefined responsibilities of treasury professionals. It was developed by a team of subject matter experts on corporate treasury management.
This program is offered in cooperation with the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP). It is a blended format of printed workbooks, learning software and Web-based study tools that are based on the complete text of Essentials of Treasury Management, Second Edition - the official body of knowledge tested on the new CTP exam. The classroom environment allows for interaction between your peers and the instructor. The experienced instructor provides a structure to keep you on track to meet your goals.

18-Hour Intensive Review Course
George Mason University, Office of Continuing Professional Education is now offering an 18-hour intensive review course for the AFP Learning SystemTM Treasury.
This course is a three-day review course for the Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP) exam.
This course is ideal for you if you have limited time to attend class. You will receive the same printed materials and Web-based tools as you would with the 36-hour course, however the instructor will cover only select content in three six-hour class sessions.
A three-day, highly interactive seminar with AFP-developed materials that provides test-taking tips to attendees in a fast-paced, intensive review of key concepts and calculations in the body of knowledge on which the CTP exam is based.
The intensive review course is built upon the premise that you have studied all six modules and the related Web-based tests and have calculated problems at your own pace prior to beginning the first intensive review session. (Three weeks prior to your first day of class the AFP Learning System will be mailed to you along with your personal login information to access the Web-based tests.)
Requirements:
To receive a Certificate of Completion from George Mason University and AFP, 100% attendance and participation are expected from participants. Participants must read through all materials prior to the start date of the class. They must also complete the Pre-Test & Post-Test PLUS all Module tests on afplearningsystem.com/login_form.html online by the deadline specified by your instructor.

Claudia J. Volk, CTP, AAP- Claudia Volk is a certified treasury professional, with over 16 years of experience in treasury and cash management. She has public accounting experience in both tax and audit with a Big Four Public Accounting firm. She is an experienced corporate and local government practitioner and currently consults corporations, local government, and non-profit organizations on treasury management issues and initiatives.
She is an active speaker at national, state and regional conferences; her presentations include: Investment Policy Guidelines, Fraud, Embezzlement & Theft-Loss Prevention Strategies, and Protecting Customer Information; her state and regional presentations include Managing the RFP Process, Cash Management Fundamentals for Accountants and the Internet-Initiated ACH.
She has a master's degree in accounting from Georgetown University.
Jeffrey Lewis, CCM AAP (18-hour course)
Jeff Lewis is an experienced corporate practitioner and management consultant in the fields of finance, treasury, international business, and electronic commerce. He is a member of the Association for Financial Professional's (AFP) Certified Cash Manager Review Course Faculty, and Cash Management Essentials Course Faculty. As well, his firm develops and delivers customized finance and training and educational programs worldwide. He served as a key member of the team that developed this course and AFP's novel new Web-based and instructor-led learning tool, the AFP Treasury Learning System.
Jeff's professional papers and articles have been published in leading professional publications, journals and newswires worldwide. He has contributed to the development of AFP's body of knowledge textbook, the Essentials of Cash Management, 7th Edition, and is a member of the Body of Knowledge Task Force responsible for the development of the 8th edition of Essentials. He has authored a series of three value-added finance and treasury textbooks for finance and treasury professionals.
